McDowell High School boys' basketball head coach Brian Franklin, a former standout player and one of the program's top scorers (1989–92), is guiding the Titans toward another 20-win season. With 28 years at McDowell, including four as varsity girls' coach and 14 leading the boys' team, Franklin continues to build on his legacy both on and off the court.
On December 30, 2024, Lady Titans standout Kensly Stewart achieved a major milestone by scoring her 1,000th career point. In addition to her on-court success, Stewart has officially committed to Greensboro College, where she will continue her education and basketball career. Her achievements mark a significant chapter in her athletic journey, and Greensboro College welcomes her as a valuable addition to its program.
